Dogs have two essential fatty acids Linoleic acid (omega 6), alpha linolenic acid (omega 3). Dogs cannot make these acids on their own, so we must provide it in their food. Most dogs get an abundance of Omega 6 in their proteins but we forget about the Omega 3's !! This is why my guys get whole frozen herrings (especially yummie after a long hike to cool down) or you can add sardines packed in spring water to their next meal. If you would rather supplements phytoplankton is a fantastic option!
Don't Forget the Omega 3's!
